Rain City Scooter Repair was founded by Ian Glenn after watching a friend's scooter get turned away by every shop in Seattle. Bike shops didn't have the tools. Motorcycle shops weren't interested. Mail-in service meant weeks without a ride. The gap was obvious — and nobody was filling it with a real mobile solution.

The mobile model exists because a storefront signed on optimism creates overhead before it creates customers. Starting from a purpose-built work van lets us keep capital in tools, parts, and working cash, serve a wider territory, and prove actual demand before we lease anything. A shop is part of the plan — just not step one.
